Lookout Mountain features 3 very special attractions all in one location and each attraction allows you to enjoy the beauty of nature. To reach 2 of the attractions, you must first experience the first attraction, the Incline Railway in which you ride a tram up a mountain. The Incline Railway up historic Lookout Mountain is the world's steepest passenger railway.
Once up Lookout Mountain, you can enjoy a city made up of nature. Rock City features massive rock formations, gardens housing over 400 native plants, and woodlands; a place that commands relaxation. Rock City is 1700 feet above sea level, with a 100-foot waterfall that cascades down the mountain, and the famous Swing-A-Long bridge that spans nearly 200 feet.
There's also a breathtaking waterfall 1,120 feet below surface. Lambert, Leo, an excavator and his team discovered this 145-foot underground waterfall in 1928 and he named the falls after his wife, Ruby, and so became to be known as Ruby Falls.
