Corning Museum of Glass
Corning was established in 1951 and has continued to be a popular location for tourists to visit with good reason.
Corning Museum dedicates themselves to tell the story of glass. The concept is very simple yet the history of glass is long and deep. Even now glass is still being explored and researched. Glass is a versatile material that can be used in numerous ways; many different shapes and sizes.
With over 45,000 different pieces of art made by glass that spans over 35 centuries, one cannot help but be enthralled by the magnificence of the artwork made.
Corning Museum features galleries upon galleries showing different categories of glass from different eras. There is a special show as well where glassmakers create glass in a live demonstration! They talk to you about the techniques and how-to about making the glass products you see around you.
There is also a fantastic gift shop where you can purchase very beautiful pieces of glass-related products such as dishes, cups, even board games that use glass, and other niche items that you won't find anywhere else. I bought a board game, the ones with marbles even though I don't know how to play it.
